Following rathits post, i just had to do a bit of research as i was shocked to read the port may have been scrapped, but i can confirm that the pc version of resident evil 5 is almost in our grasp, according to several sources they all have the same release date and the same information.
the following is taken from GameSpot.Co.Uk who were actually lucky enough to try out the pc port in Capcoms California office…this update on the site came on the 17th July..
“The PC version will be able to run on XP machines, as long as they are running DirectX 9,
the company has revealed that DirectX 10 will only be needed for use with Nvidias 3D vision goggles.
Gamespot tried out the game, running on high end machines and mid range rigs.
The game is planned to support XP, Vista and windows 7″
so the good news is you don’t have to be running on a super computer to be able to play resident evil 5 pc, however if you can run high end performance graphics you will be able to play the game at frame rates in excess of 100 frames per second!
One of the most exciting features about this port, is that it will be compatible with Nvidias 3D vision goggles, so yes chris will be literally standing in your bedroom!
the only downside is the goggles require you to have a monitor capable of running a refresh rate of at least 120Hz, so i urge you to do your own research before making a un-necessary purchase.
More additions you say? Yes RE5 pc will also give Chris and Sheva two new costumes each and a new difficulty level for Mercs which will triple the amount of enemies in each level, so for all you hardcore gamers this may be the challenge you have been waiting for.
The game is set for release on September 15 or there abouts, and even though it has been delayed it will be well worth the wait.
