Upon browsing the Fable 2 Forum - the most successful website under our gaming network - I was able to come across a Resident Evil 5 thread whereby members of the Fable 2 community were eagerly discussing news and info regarding the upcoming Resident Evil 5, scheduled for release of the Sony Playstation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 sometime in 2008.

I’d just like to start off by saying that if you haven’t seen the previously released Resident Evil 5 E3 Trailer then be sure to check that out, too.

Anywho, back to the matter at hand: the release of the latest - and by far the most stunning - Resident Evil 5 Trailer to date. This video features some absolutely jaw-dropping gameplay footage of one of the Resident Evil series’ most famous and likeable characters, S.T.A.R.S. member Chris Redfield, trying to fight off deadly hordes of zombies in what appears to be a remote African village.

A brand new high-definition Resident Evil 5 trailer from this year’s E3 has been released and is now available over at IGN - but I have also included the video within this news post for convenience. This latest trailer will also apparently become available on for download on the Xbox 360 Live Marketplace within the next week.

In a recent article by the awesome gaming news blog, destuctoid, they revealed what they believe to be the current list of voice actors set to voice the main characters of the upcoming, highly-anticipated, Resident Evil 5 for Sony Playstation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 (and possibly PC - who knows?). Capcom released the official trailer to it’s upcoming Wii-exclusive title, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. For those of you who may need a refresher of what Umbrella Chronicles is about, think of it as Time Crisis, but it backtracks through all of the Resident Evil games.

The trailer shows a lot of promise and it seems like this won’t be a simple romp in the Resident Evil world. All of the characters from the past Resident Evils make a brief cameo in the trailer, and they sure do love to shoot at barrels. Whatever happened to the good old days of popping a zombie in the head and being done with it? Kids these days rely on explosives to kill their zombies. Damn kids and their barrel shooting ways.

Capcom, the Japanese developers behind the incredible Resident Evil series, have seemingly kept rather tight-lipped towards their most successful gaming franchise to date. With no news regarding Resident Evil 5 surfacing recently, it’s becoming increasingly concerning as to how the progress of the next incarnation in the survival-horror series is coming along.

Yes! That’s right! Resident Evil News.com has received a bit of a make-over and a brand new banner. Admittedly, it hardly seems necessary to post about this as the new banner should have been the first thing our long-time readers would have noticed, but I felt compelled to write up about this anyway!

I’m also in the process of brainstorming a complete make-over for our Resident Evil Forum as well. However, for the forum, I’m not just planning on adding a new lick of paint - but I intendo to upgrade our current forum software from SMF to the vastly superior vBulletin bulletin board product.
