Yes! Finally a trailer for the eagerly-awaited Resident Evil: Degeneration has surfaced, and a mighty sexy trailer it is, too. Provided you are indeed old enough to watch the Resident Evil trailer, you’ll no doubt notice the appearances of Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy; two of the Resident Evil series’ more popular characters. There are also a ton of zombies to be seen, too. Let’s face it, Resident Evil wouldn’t be Resident Evil without zombies, right? Nothing official has been said yet, but seeing as we all know that Sony Pictures owns the Resident Evil movie license and is currently in the process of developing the first ever Resident Evil CG movie, Resident Evil: Degeneration, it begs the question: Will Sony ensure that Resident Evil: Degeneration will be Blu-ray exclusive? Sony is obviously fighting to promote their Blu-ray platform and win the ‘high definition’ war against the HD-DVD format and releasing the next Resident Evil movie as an exclusive Blu-ray title can only help boost Blu-ray sales. While it’s just little more than a rumour at the moment, it’s possible that the highly anticipated Xbox 360 and PS3-bound survival horror adventure from Capcom, Resident Evil 5, just might be released towards the end of 2008; as opposed to its previous early 2009 release date estimate.
