A quick news post today as info is rather sketchy on this one; apparently a follow-up to Resident Evil: Extinction is already in the works, even though it has yet to begin filming! Sadly nothing has been revealed yet, other than the fact that a fourth film will be in production at some point after the release of Resident Evil: Extinction. However, this can only be good news for fans of both the games and movies series.

I seriously hope there will be a fouth Resident Evil movie not just because the third one is “open ended” but also because I LOVE RESIDENT EVIL movies a whole lot!
*Sighs* They’ll cancel the Halo movie, but not this piece of garbage? Go figure. The Resident Evil movies contradict everything the games say. The mansion isn’t the same, the Nemisis program isn’t the same, and so much is missing. It’s flatout idiotic how morphed the Resident Evil series is getting. It’s just not what it used to be, it’s no longer a zombie horror, a survival game, it’s now basiclly something that’s being made up as they go. It’s completely random.. An army of Alice? That’s unusual, that’s unique,but one thing it’s not is Resident Evil.
Bah that’s unbelievable…If anything i have been nothing but impressed with what resident evil has done with the movies. For those who are true gamers and know the real history behind the game you will know that there was a series of literature under another name that is what the game was based off of, however the game was a lousy representation of the books. The movies however go along perfectly. Lets think about it, how could they have possibly made a movie about the game? It would take 20 hours to watch and would have been not only repeditive but boring. They had to spice things up a bit hence going back to the books. To think though, a HALO movie!?!?!? No wonder they canceled the idea, how many hours of blasting the same shit could there really be? It would be a lousy movie. I don’t blame them for canceling it. However i am excited to say that there WILL be a 4th movie. I don’t want to post exactly how i know this but the fact is, there WILL be a 4th movie and potentially a 5th. The whole concept of the 3rd movie was to give people who havn’t read the books a look into what is really going on… A lot like a few of the newer starwars movies…it’s just a paved road for things to come. Did you really think alice was the only one of her type? Sad….

I love the RE movies,especially the games. Every time I see the ending of a movie,or game I always hoped for another chapter. I know it has to end sometime,but I just hope it’s not too soon!

I love the resident evil films. The first one was good. The second onw was great. The third one was awsome. If the make a fourth one (i hope they do) it will kick ass.

I luv the Resident Evil movies. I have only played one game though. That was Resident Evil 4 on PS2, and Wii. I probubly get Umbrella Chronicles for Christmas. I know that Umbrella Chronicles is just a remake of the first game. about the movies. I actually saw the 2nd one first, then the 1st, then the 3rd twice in theatres. If they make a fourth movie, i hope that Milla is in it! If she’s not, I’m not watching it!

You will probably happy to know that sony and capcom are launching a new series of resident evil movies ( in CGI animation format ) for 2008 following the real storyline. The first chapter is Biohazard: Degeneration or if you prefer Resident Evil - Finding Necro.

the reason why they didnt use romeros script is because it sucked ( the designers of the game even said so). come on the zombie dogs legs crawled around after theyd been severed and i own the romero script and it was stupid chris redfeild was never a farmer in the game and STARS was not funded by umbrella.
I hope in the 4th movie,they include the crucial characters of R.E.4 such as Leon,Ashley,Ada,Luis Sera,Jack Krauser,Saddler,and the merchant,and lets not forget our good chainsaw weilding friend,dr.salvador.

One reason that they should make another Resident Evil movie is because the third one ended with the members of the corporation hiding underground while Alice was making duplicates of herself. The second reason is that I want to know if the other survivors made it to safety in the state of Alaska. I’ve been a horror movies fan for a long time and I looove Resident Evil movie because there is no sex scene in them and that is the way a horror movie should always be.

The information about the CGI series is known because of the DVD for extinction, there is a preview of the first one on it. Unfortunately for Tizzle Anne or whatever her name was, Carlos is most definately dead from the explosion of the tanker… But a fourth Resident Evil Movie would be Bloody Awesome.

2nd I really would love to see the resident evil movies go on for a while the armies of alice is a bit over the top but we really need to see what is going to happen before we start to judge and a far and RE4-Game yes it might make a good story line for a movie the newer games are getting closer to movie story lines then the older game just because both techs are advancing. but I really don’t think that you should try to blend the story lines.

I love the Resident Movies && the games. I havent read the books though, ya thats right, the games are based on books, look it up. I cant wait for the fourth one to come, the movies have only gotten better and better, so the fourth one should kick some ass.
Leon in the next movie would be nice, a long with Ashley. And Danny R said that the 1st and 2nd movie were the same…I have to admitt they were kinda of the same, but I think the reason is because they were still in Racoon City, but other then that I thought that the first two were completely different from each other, the 2nd one was better out of the first two. As far as the third movie goes, I thought that it has been the best so far, it completely blew me away. And gpd is right a real horror flim doesnt have sex scenes like most of them do now, thats why the Resident Evil movies are my favorite horror/actuon movies.

I think that the Resident Evil Movies are showing a lot of karate fighting. They show a lot of character story and not enogh zombie sence. I personaly think that they should make Resident Evil 4 actualy going against Zombies, kind of like Resident Evil 2 when the cops and soldiers drop in the city and start shooting at all the zombies coming at them. Resident Evil is time to shine and has to be better than all the zombie movies ever created, like THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, DAY OF THE DEAD, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, NIGHT OF THE ZOMBIES, DAWN OF THE DEAD. So…Resident Evil 4 should show a lot of Zombie Action breaking in to houses, buildings attacking people and people comming back to live after they have been biten. Need to show more blood, gore..and they need to make it more realistic..most of the characters in the movie dont seem scared enogh from the zombies, instead they are like super heros that start karate fighting with zombies.or also “the smart zombies” i hate those smart zombie movies kind of like CITY of THE DEAD.that kills the entire movie..I have never seen a classic horror zombie movie with karate involved..and this makes the movie look fake and childish. One more thing, “Zombies that RUN” like the new movie Dawn of the DEAD…this kills the movie big time, because all zombies run in what ever condition they are..they should of maid slow zombies and some that could run, but run CROOKED not all straight and perfect, most of the zombies that run in Dawn of the Dead look like if they are in the Olympics. If i was to help and direct a zombie movie we would go to the next level on zombie movies. I have been a Zombie Fan since like 4 years old. I collected every single zombie movie that i could. I wrote storys and books with great starting and ending story to it. Last but not least, the 2 best zombie movies ever created that i would choose are: The Return of the living DEAD 2…and the old classic DAWN OF THE DEAD. I hope they make a fourth, I’m curious as to what happens next. I can understand some comments made about how the film isn’t like the game, I do the same thing with the Harry Potter books. But I think the films are good regardless of it. I would say too that it’s only based on the games and they can’t put everything in, but seems like they missed a lot from the games (don’t know much about the games tbh, but a few of my friends love them so I know a bit). Maybe they should have used a different name and put in the description that it’s ideas are from the game? Just a thought.
The fact that people are questioning whether or not there will be a fourth R.E. movie is completely retarded, If you have seen the third movie and have a quarter of a brain you will realize that to not make a 4th movie would make no sense because the Movie’s storyline wouldn’t be finished. I am a huge fan of the Resident evil games. I love ‘em. However what did disappoint me is that it was no where near the game. Like shouldn’t they make the 1st movie based on the mansion with S.T.A.R.S. And the 2nd movie with Leon and Claire. I love RE movies but I just wish they were like the game. And I damn hope that RE4 will be like the game!!!

First of all, I agree with Trizzle Anne Ventanilla 20445465%!!! Carlos (other than Alice) is one of the best characters. He deserveds to be in the fourth one and I applaud Oded Fehr for portraying him so well. To me personally, it’s only worth watching if it has Milla Jovovich AND Oded Fehr in it.

I have watched my dad play Resident Evil on Gamecube ever since I was in the third grade so that game has stuck with me. Although the movies and the game do not match, I like not knowing what is going to happen and the way they spiced it up. That’s just my opinion. So there you have it.

i see that you dont like alice being superhuman well if you really think about it (that may require some effort from some of you lol) the nemesis, lictors, infected dr isaacs are all superhumans with powers and thats ok but alice is a superhuman except she isnt f**k ugly you see? she’s sort of the same as all the big badguys but she’s good and to you thats bad (oh no someone who is a superhuman like the badguys but is good run to the hills!!)
and she’s the only superhuman because all the clones won’t be superhumans because they are clones of the original alice not the superhuman one
and about the less guns- more kicking thing: in RE4 leon kicks the enemy and even suplexes some of them
since I played almost all of the RE games(except for the gun survivor 2) I guess the movie gets kinda OUT OF PHASE especially when alice used some sort of telekinetic magical mind powers. It totally ruined the reputaion of the resident evil games not to mention the reputaion of the “True” and original protagonists like Jill as Alice glutonously devoured every credits that is meant for the original characters of RE thus resulted into outphasing Jill and Claire as well. I hope that Sony will never allow such disappointment as to create anymore of this Over reacting hero and just focus on the original main casts.

I saw in an interveiw with one of the producers that they are looking at doing a fourth movie (thank GOD … after all, Extinction DID end in a cliffhanger). They’re looking to put Chris Redfield in it and focus some of it on Alaska.

I love you bremner, Paul, airi and megumi. I think what airi wants to say is that the directot of RE movies has no sense of originality. It mixed the matrix, x-men, riddick and many other films’ original style that made it quite different and lost it’s essence. Remember that not all people will swallow whatever the director likes to show. People are observant creatures, they will know what is original and what is fake. As I have observed, the 3 recent movies doesn’t have any improvement and what’s more worst is that it obviously borrowed some styles from various movies that made it looked somewhat degraded with no originality. Anyway, it somehow entertains us in fact I have seen so many different comments meaning it somehow made an impact to us right guys

No,nintendo wii, it’s very obvious that it is magical. If you ever studied chemistry, you should understand that the atmospheric flames she did is SO impossible as fire cannot virtually exist that big without much source of fuel. And also can’t you think just a little bit that Alice’s powers and mind powers is a bit too much? like the scene where she only thougth of disabling the big camera satelite outside the earth many many miles away space? if that is not MAGICAL then what is that?

Hmmm, I don’t get what are you disagreeing about bremner. It’s a fact that the fire came from the tank’s flame thrower since it’s so visible as you watch the movie/ What I am asking is where Oh where did that huge flame that covered almost 1/4 of the atmosphere came from? That humungous atmosphere of flames cannot be supported even if that tanker is 2x full of fuel and obviously it will never be supported by crows. We have to think of any logical reasons sometimes since that movie used the name of resident evil game.

I agree with Nick when he says that it doesnt follow the storyline in the games, and if these movies were based off of the books that your talking about then it wouldn’t be called resident evil. One thing we do all have to agree on is that someone did make these movies, there’s nothing we can do about it, all we can do is sit back and enjoy what they give us. And come on man, Jill Valentine in the second resident evil movie was mad hot, and they did a great job with her character, they even through in Barry Burton. I love the Resident Evil Movie Series and I think they did a great job, it could have been different, but overall was great. If you noticed in the third movie the guy in the conference room with the sunglasses, that guy is going to be Albert Wesker. The fourth movie will be about how Alice goes to kill the rest of the Umbrella Corporation and how Albert Wesker becomes like Alice, only better. It will kickass, so stop complaining about the Movies and just enjoy them

Hmmm… Its somehow feels so unfair to the rest of resident evil main characters but is as cade said, we do not have any choice but to either watch it or don’t support it anymore. I’ve been watching the movies expecting that it will somehow “change” but since it seems that it is possible we just have to ignore it and don’t support the movie.

I’ve watched the first movie but I was disappointed. When the second movie was shown, I gave it a chance since in the commercial there was Jill Valentine and other Familiar characters, but much to my expectations, The Director intentionally disgraced Jill especially when it was shown that Jill is a smoking bitch and acting cool but failed when the matched that she lit was out of fire. Therefore I never intended to watched the 3rd movie but I bought a pirated DVD just for the sake of curiousity, never thought that pirated DVD could be useful huh ^_^

No, he should not have created a superhuman character role for her in an already character laden universe.
She is the epitome of a Mary Sue - hell, she’s not only flawless, she UPSTAGES the originial characters on a constant basis. Nobody else is nearly as good as she is.
In RE:Apocalypse, Anderson even had dialogue written for Jill stating this. “I’m good, but I’m not that good…” **** - let’s not overstate the obvious or anything.
No, most of us hope that Alice NEVER crosses over into the true RE universe, where characters are more human, and less Matrix like (mind you, not a slam on the Matrix, one of my favorite films, there’s just no room for it in RE).
Throw in the fact that Alice is the Mother of all Mary Sue’s, and add in that Anderson seems to take delight in ****ing on the integrity of the ACTUAL characters, and you have a set of movies (who knows how many there will be in the end…) that really have nothing to do with the RE Universe, except that they coincidentally have some characters with the same names.

I really wanted those movies to be something cool for the RE universe - but Paul Anderson ruined that for me, and I’m sure countless others.
Now - as for which FANS are which. Anyone that likes RE is cool to me - but unless you want to sound a little ignorant, it probably is good to at least read up on the series if you don’t play the games. It could certainly help you avoid people telling you that you’re an idiot- or whatever. Plus, there’s some cool story there.
i kinda have to agree with theoneyoulovetohate on two points “Take it for whats its worth or dont watch it Simple as that.” people are going to watch what im doing is imforming people who see a resident evil film title and think “that looks interesting i like those games” that its nothing at all to do with the games. and personally i like both zombies fast ones from the likes of 28days later are cool and so are the normal ones other than that the films suck milla is a good actress i think personally but alice shouldnt be in the films and whoever wrote the script should be fired as no one i know likes these films.
ive played resident evil games for many years now and i love the game mechanics prior to RE4 but ReS4 is a fresh breeze in a long lasting wind yo. But i wouldnt see the original thing disappear for anything but still keep the new. Legend of Zelda solved this by seperate the series on two paths but you still had to play both to get the whole picture but you STILL have the core style avaible! As far as the RE series concerned, i see RE:Degeneration as a back-to-basics, the long awaited thing. Yes the CGI idea has been around for a long time, i even played with the idea on paper little under a year ago. just for fun though but it made me realise CGI is perfect for RE if done right… Actually FFVII:Advent Children smacked that halfway into my head, but my point is the RE is seriously scary and CGI is the right tool to enhance that! BUT if the zombies end up looking like those looser ass discease people in I AM LEGEND then ill sell my RE4 special edition GC…….

Alice was brought in the name ’cause milla jovovich has a relationship with the producer, so he found a part in the movies for her…no more no less.
There’s only a producer who is able to create the PERFECT RESIDENT EVIL MOVIE, that person is STEVEN SPIELBERG. He made Jurassic Park, no need to say that suspence and mistery, the main themes of this movie, could be useful for a resident evil movie.
Paul Anderson is an unknown producer who pulbished in the past MORTAL KOMBAT (no comment) and that ruined this trilogy that could have been the best ever after ALIEN. with the right producer obviously.
Please don’t say that alien vs predator can be considered a good movie as the previous alien trilogy, it sucked badly. He was able to ruin also an affirmed trilogy with an existing plot, he has the “destructive” touch
Why would Capcom embrace something that nearly ruined the franchise? They are even producing a new movie on their own, which in my opinion means they weren’t content with the movies’ retelling of the story.

personally i cant see how they thought they could do this and not have it as a cgi film i meen the films are terrible with bad story lines and only the most tenous link to reesident evil by throwing in a few characters occasionally and then killing them off. i say bring on degeneration and death to resident evil four.

Well i do agree Airi (sorry for mention this) but everything except the aliens and predators in that VS. movie was wack, its as if these corporate presidents just for being an ass spits out these kinda movies to non-visual writers or whatever… but again i have to make my previous point, theyre entertaining but not correct according to game settings. man i watched the degeneration teaser like 20 times today and i eat my words on the zombies not being good enough animated but they should have been more grotesque is my opinion, but hey thats fixable, these people making it are game programmers after all.

Just to clarify things, but Pual WS Anderson only directed the first movie. Apocalypse and Extinction were directed by different people. He did however write the script for Apocalyse. I am not sure about Extinction however. Sorry if this has been stated already. Also, in defense of the first film, just because it was not the same mansion as in the game does not by any means clarify there was only one mansion. There could have been multiple mansions. The beauty of RE is that it is extemely open-ended and can have many other story lines than the game. I know this is a bit off topic, but why do people not complain of the RE remake for GC? Except for the characters and some rooms and such, it is what, 70% new? They re-wrote pretty much all of the game we all loved to make more money. And although I agree with many of you about some points about Alice, it clearly states how she obtained telkinetic powers. I do however loathe the fact that in Apocalypse the ignored the continuity of the game RE:3 by adding new nameless S.T.A.R.S. members, changing the way Nemesis dies, Sgt. Nicholai dies and was not a bad guy and some other things. I still however found them all entertaining, which was the point of them being made in the first place. Sorry for the super long posting also.
no long posting is good but id disagree on some points the mansion i can agree with but the giant underground hive city full of workers slightly harder to believe as you cant really sneak in that much equipment without someone noticing unless the town was already brain dead zombies. and while it states that alice gets the powers from a mutated brain considering the number of people infected she is magically the only one to develop these powers. and as for the re remake for gc well i dont know much about that i own it for the camecube but havent played it much mostly just 4 2 and nemesis so far as i prefer my 360 (off topic cool idea box set release of all RE games for 360 would be cool) and what annoys me most is the random characters like alice who arent linked to the game at all while atleast the cgi one will have a few we remember. by the way if anyone stumbles on any info sites for the cgi post them here thanks

RE: remake just improved not just the the virtual graphics but also the storyline, it doesn’nt exxagerate much like you want to show us. and who are the so-called NAMELES STARS? jesus, that movie never even included the nemesis trademark, his scary line of “STARS” The movies are obviously over manipulated and murdered to suit the liking of someone. there’s no problem about the first movie I guess, but after that…nightmare began, A nemesis who can pose like a boxer, an acting-cool-but-idiot-looking jill, a stolen scene, a killed main character (Leon)without even giving any chance to appear, and most of all a mary sue b*tch who destroyed every meaning of it by doing all those stunts that I even forgot I’m watching a gruesome survival horror movie and thought it was matrix-mission impossible movie.
