Resident Evil 5 for the PC is still on the way!

Following rumours that the PC port of Resident Evil 5 has been scrapped, I feel compelled to set the story straight:, Resident Evil 5 for PC has not been scrapped and I can indeed confirm that it will be released September 8, 2009.

"The PC version will be able to run on XP machines, as long as they are running DirectX 9, the company has revealed that DirectX 10 will only be needed for use with Nvidias 3D vision goggles. Gamespot tried out the game, running on high end machines and mid range rigs. The game is planned to support XP, Vista and windows 7"

So the good news is you don't have to be running on a super computer to be able to play Resident Evil 5 for PC, and you should be able to run the game at a decent resolution and high details with most middle to high-end graphics cards. One of the most exciting features about this port is that it will be compatible with Nvidias 3D vision goggles - the only downside is the goggles require you to have a monitor capable of running a refresh rate of at least 120Hz.

More additions you say? Yes, RE5 for PC will also award Chris and Sheva with two additional and exclusive new costumes each and a new difficulty level for the bonus Mercenaries mode which will triple the amount of enemies in each level. The enthusiast Resident Evil 5 gamer will certainly have their work cut out for them this time round
