Those of you who are waiting with anxiously for Capcom to finally announce that Resident Evil 5 will be maed available on the Wii will be very disappointed to hear that Resident Evil 5's producer, Masachika Kawata, has himself stated that the Wii isn't even capable of handling the RE5 intro screen. Apparently the graphics on show for the game's intro screen are just too advanced for the Wii's last-gen hardware.
It's a real shame to be posting this, but some of you should hopefully find solace in the notion that whil the Wii may not be able to run Resident Evil 5 as it is, that doesn't mean Capcom won't later release a "watered-down" version at a later date.

Despite having the poorest graphical capabilities on the current generation of consoles, Wii is quite possibly the best platform for the Resident Evil series, as evidenced by RE4: Wii Edition. Of course, RE4 did originally come out on last gen consoles, so Capcom would need to make that watered down version to see if that title still holds up in this gen.
Kinda disapointed... Expected at least semi-decent version of RE5 for Wii... Good thing I am not to excited to play RE in a desert without one bit of horror. Well maybe Wii gets something even better, you never know... I also think it isnt fair for non-rich players to be left out becuse we dont want to buy horribly overpriced PS3 (WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???) or X360 that usually brokes down after 3 hours of gameplay ( Red lights). Too bad... Well RE4 still seems better to me.

i hope they do put resident evil 5 on the wii because 360 and ps3 owners have wy to many good games already like halo 3, gears of war resistence fall of man etc. I agree with caleb who cares if its watered down i mean look at the first resident evil game the graphics freakin sucked but the game was the best game ive ever played in my 16 year life. ithink theyll put it on wii imean look at resident evil 4 and dead rising they are way better than there original versions the targeting systems are easier and better looking and when you have a reacction to a scary part in the game you aim somewhere else which is pretty realistic.So please put resident evil 5 on wii or even on ps2 capcom cause i am "THE" diehard resident evil fan

buy a console or pc then u asses and quit complaining. Its like complaining that you cant watch a blue ray movie on a standard definition TV. Wii is old tech so expect it not to be able to play cutting edge games.

Im going to be dissapointed in capcom if they do not put re5 on wii i mean why the heck are they puutting it on the 360 it sucks! you play this system for a month and hat stupid red ring turns on and they never put it on an xbox system before its always been on a playstation or a nintendo i dont think capcom knows what they are doing because there alot of people who have Wiis that are major resident evil fans like myself
As a 30something gamer with a family I purchased the Wii since it was the best console for the family. I find it disappointing that there is a lack of quality M level games for the system. I have to put family first so I'm not going to drop $300+ on a system that only I would use. I had hoped that since RE4 Wii Ed. was so well received that Capcom would break from the trend and either develop or down port RE5. I guess I was wrong and Capcom is just as enamored by the new "ohh shiny" graphics as everyone else in the industry. I wonder if the industry is going to realize that playability make block buster games not 3000px X 3000px photo realistic texture mapping. After all Tetris was a runaway hit with just a few falling blocks and simple colors.

resident evil 5 is a great game i tried the demo and ca not wait for the full versiod its fun and should be enjoyed by all but ill have to dissagree with people saying the wii is for children because re4 on it was pretty badass
and another thing the 360 rules and anyone who says otherwise is a ****** because the circle only goes red if u **** around with the thing
well at the end of the day 360 might be next gen, next gen trash can. red lights of death and the weird circle scrathes caused by the 360 itself so it has its many faults, yes it does have many adult games, halo 3 been there done it got the t shirt and totally bored. wii is different and fun to use for families. res4 on wii is a really great game.
