Fourth Resident Evil movie being planned

A quick news post today as info is rather sketchy on this one; apparently a follow-up to Resident Evil: Extinction is already in the works, even though it has yet to begin filming! Sadly nothing has been revealed yet, other than the fact that a fourth film will be in production at some point after the release of Resident Evil: Extinction. However, this can only be good news for fans of both the games and movies series.

Since RE: Degeneration came out (which was incredibly good, I think.), I don’t think Leon would be necessary in a live-action. And I really don’t think Ali Larter should return as Claire. Ever.

What I’d like to see… is something with Billy from RE0! I’ve always wondered whatever happened to him after the first initial incident. And what about the other characters like Barry? Or Rebecca? They could at least include other characters in the movies. Though I would prefer a game…

What do you guys think?

I bet they will be in or at least be in the docs in RE 5. If I’m not mistaken, Billy was an ex-marine…accused to have been killed many african civilians?….in africa where the RE 5 will took place

I think having Billy in RE5 would be a real stretch for the storyline of RE5. RE5, as I see it, is a platform for Wesker and Chris to duke it out specifically. Or at least expand on their “rivalry”/animosity/ensuing the foiling of one another. (whichever you prefer)

If they’re mentioned, great! Maybe a document could lead up to the next game that may feature someone we haven’t seen in ages!

I think if they make a fourth itl b great.but two questions.1.wat happened to the little girl in the second they rescued(did she die in the crash I can’t remember)2.how the he’ll did the virus go from one continent to another?surely they wlda taken necessary precautions.jus like in 28 weeks later where they ran thro the channel tunnel which was unguarded.u woulda fot the French wldve guarded or destroyed it.jus a film I know lol but I’m curious to know the answer

Well let me answer it for you Petersj. First, the girl was just used by Pauly Andergaysony to look like Sherry type, to show to the original makers that he/she/it can make a much greater story than they are. or so that gay thought. And since that kid is of no use anymore, that gay just disposed of her. Second, How the the virus spread from one continent to another? I guess it’s one of the pathetic loopholes of that movie that that gay made. It’s as if he’s taking the american forces for a fool and telling the world that it’s stupid it couldn’t contain that outbreak… That’s the reason I’m questioning the credibility of that gay-faced idiot.

i really hope that they will come out with an fourth residnet evil , because the movie rocks i can’t wait to see if the world going to get back to normal or if things going to get worse. The way the last ended had me wondering wats going to happen next. but resident evil exicntion kind of had me upset because the second one ended when they went to go pick up alex and they got away, then the last one started off with her on a motor bike, i didn’t see girl or the other women. the last one didn’t really tell if they were alive or dead. but hopefully we see them on the next movie. hopefully. and i hope they made to alaska safely.

man I love the resident evil series but with resident evil 4 and 5 resident evil is no longer a zombie game your basically fighting bugs what happened to the resident evil we all know and love plus the resident evil: degeneration has now the same as the real movies or the games in 5 you play has chris redfield so what the hell is up with Chris turning himself into a beast

they have to many spin offs and side stories they are starting to mess the story all up they need to start over and keep just one game series and one movie series cause they are starting to confuse them selfs

another thing in the movie series 2 ends with Jill, and the little girl alive but in 3 they don’t tell if they are alive or dead its like they got deleted from the story I was kinda pissed so I’m hoping that in the 4th movie they put Jill in it or tell what happened to them or something

but for some reason I feel like the 4th one is going to be during the big gap between the end of 3 and the beginning of 4, but I’m hoping to see a army of Alice that would be kickass

but to the resident evil crew keep up the good work
don’t let resident evil die.

I hope Alice and Wesker fight. Also i hope Wesker has the same powers as he does in the games (he should seeing as he was born with those powers thanks to progenitor virus) An Army of Alice seems kinda lame, Sort of turning into Matrix where Neo (Wesker) fights Agent Smith (Alice) LOL.
Still i love the movies and all the games, hopefully they will remake resident evils 1-3 that would be awsome.

In response to Jesse, Wesker was in the second movie, although his name was never actually mentioned, he was the one that got eaten by zombies on the roof in the end.
Check IMBD and look at the casting if you dont believe me. :)

  actually wesker was in the 3rd movie as the boss of the board that had that meeting with isaacs, you know..the guy with the cool black glasses who said, and thats an order and isaacs copied his voice. it even says it in the credits trust me

I cant wait for another movie!

I do think they need to go back to the game as well I think they killed Nemisis off to quick, they should have done some of the storyline in the mansion…But im a massive fan of the games nothing beats Capcom….but you need to judge these not as the games but as movies! cus I bet you if they copied the storyline completly from the games, ther would still be people complaining prob saying ‘ why cant they put anything orginal in the film…..

I know the first movie was spot on with the bee hive and the lickers, but they could have added more..

After the second with them incorporating Jill Valentine

The third with Clair Redfield was ok but her story was lost; she was looking for her brother, & it just didnt let you connect with the characters as such…

More from the STARS & maybe somthing from the Bravo Team would have been good…

I now look at the films not as actural life interpretations of the game but just Zombie movies with this great title that incorperates some of characters from the game.

i havent ever played the video games but the movies kick ass and i would love to see and army of alices just to see what would happen and i hope to see alot more resident evil films and i hope they keep milla jovioch shes a bad ass in these movies

I love the banter that goes on here! It’s like a civil war between two different types of nerds, (I can say that for I am a nerd too!) those who demand the movies to be like the games and those who love the movies just as they are. Awesome! The movies are entertaining! the Games are entertaining! that’s what the whole thing is about, Capcom did not want to tell a deep and poetic story about zombies, they wanted to make money by entertaining people, same for the movies. And besides, I think we can all agree that Alice is awfully sexy in that red dress… YOWZA!

Oh, P.S. I don’t know what all this talk of Resident Evil being based off of a book series, I mean there is a book series based off of the game, I have those, it says Based on the hit video game series Resident Evil, so… yeah why would they base a book series on a video game already based on a book series? Strange… oh well, doesn’t matter because this is all just for entertainment ;) toodles loves.

Can’t wait for the fourth installment to be released. It will be interesting how they are going to pull off the army of Alice clones lol. Loved Extinction. I liked the post-apocalyptic setting and the Las Vegas set piece. Just wish they got to spend a little more time there. Alice with superpowers is no problem to me as this is a video-game based franchise so i think suspension of disbelief is a no-brainer. Hope Milla signs on as she is the best thing about these films. Just 90 mins of Milla being eye candy is a great film in my book.

Looking forward to Resident Evil 4. Hope they up the budget if they are going to pull of the hundreds of Milla’s. Hope Sienna returns as Jill Valenine in this on or at least explain what happened to her between Apocalypse and Extinction.Would love to see a superpowered battle between original Alice and Wesker and her army of clones and hordes of the undead and Unbrella army in Tokyo. I wish Paul WS Anderson returns as director. This franchise is his vision afterall.

I don’t think that alice should be in the movies at all. She’s not in the game and I still think that they should have followed the game storyline. I do like her powers however. She just doesn’t fit in the story.

What I didn’t like about Extention is that they didn’t explain what happened with Jill. Where did she and the little girl go? Ali Larter is a good actress but I don’t think that she was right for the part of Claire Redfield.

The Movies are great the acting is great the action scene is great the effects are great I’ll give it a 9.50/10. is almost perfect but not enough because of some character issues but all-and-all its great. But for the Storyline…….. I don’t get it. Seriously, I like Alice and his superpowers… but…. WHAT THE HELL HAPPEN TO THE STORY…. even some characters are missing. There are jump events. Like in RE:A the end was they are together but in RE:E they are not together??? I don’t think this is Resident Evil anymore. They just took the names of the characters in RE then place in on the movie because its sounds cool. I recommend they change the name of the movie.

For those who address Alice’s ability as “super powers”, or “super abilities”, or whatever, and think they’re stupid, or some X-men crap, I have to say-IT’S MIND CONTROL! That’s beyond X-men crap, it’s not the same as that bold retart who sits in a wheel chair and thinks his smart. About how the virus spreads airi, why don’t you use some commen sense. We all know how aids spread, we all know how chicken flu spread, we all know how swine flu spread, so is it really that hard to realize the obvious. As for Billy boy get out of here, just because I watch the movies and play the games doesn’t make me some low-life fat nerd who sits on his arse all day! Honestly, you couldn’t think of a better name. As for Jill Valentine, did you guys no watch the movie-were you not listening. Alice left them-she left the group. The problem with resident evil 3: Extinction, is that it lacked horror. It was more science-fiction. I liked the ending, however. It’s nice, it’s complicated, that’s what we want to see in movies. Not just some lame simple shooting, and driving, and some bullshit item with extrodinary powers. The complication of Resident Evil was perfectly made, unlike the Transformers, which was the biggest shame because it was the biggest crap, I was extremly disapointed in that movie, I was a big fan of the cartoon. Milla gave a beautiful performance, and she was very sexy, I love Alice, the character is beautiful, she looks like my sister-inlaw. The fourth one is said to be called After-life, but there has been talk that they might not make it. Well that’s pish-posh, they need to make a fourth one, what with the extrodinary ending they gave, really original if you ask me. I don’t think it’s going to be like Matrix, this is an actual army of mutant, cloned women, so I reckon they will make some war. I hope they can live up to the expectations of making a solid story out of it. I heard that After-life will be the last one, I was hoping for five. I hope that there will be some major conflict between Alice and Wesker, that would be mad.

Why don’t these people just stop criticizing the film. Those who love the game, just play it. And don’t watch the movie, you people don’t deserve to be entertained by it’s production.
