Resident Evil 4 Movie Confirmed for 2010 Release

Well, despite members of the Resident Evil: Extinction cast saying otherwise, a fourth Resident Evil movie is definitely very much alive and currently being shot. According to Shock Till You Drop, they’ve received confirmation that a Resident Evil 4 movie is currently set for a September 17th, 2010 release and will see the return of Alice and her army of clones. Also, Jessica Chobot of IGN’s Daily Fix was kind enough to reveal that the Resident Evil 4 movie is rumoured to be set in Alaska and Tokyo; while this has yet to be officially confirmed - IGN is normally pretty reliable when it comes to this sort of thing.

Update: Just to make everything absolutely clear: I am not saying there will be a Resident Evil movie based on Resident Evil 4. I am merely stating that a fourth Resident Evil movie is in the works.

Resident Evil Timeline

I must stast by stressing this is just a rumour and will probably be subject to change, and you may even see segments removed!
Anyway on to the good stuff, i found this timeline for the Darkside Chronicles while browsing the web and thought i’d share it with you all.

Racoon City, october 1998, playable characters-Leon, Claire and Ada

Racoon Ruins, September 1998, playable characters-Leon, Claire and sherry

Rockfort Island, December 1998, Playable Characters Claire and Steve.

The Capital, December 1998, Playable Characters-Leon

Antartic Facility, December 1998, With a Sub chapter (legacy forgotten), and this shall focuss on the ashford family…Playable Characters, Chris, Claire and Steve.

South America, July 2002, Playable Characters Leon and Jack krauser

Umbrella-A New Beginning, February 2003 and 2004, Playable Characters-Ada Wong.

The Beginning of the End, August 2006, Playable Characters-Chris and Jill

Former Wishes, June 2009, Playable Character-Sherry Birkin

I like the idea of a racoon ruins, and i’m hoping since sherry has been put forward as a playable character, we might see her being taken in by umbrella, and what happened next.
The one major fault with this timeline in my opinion is the segment ‘the capital’, now don’t get me wrong i am not saying it should not be there, but i don’t see it being very enjoyable, as all i can see happening is Leon having to get word to chris that his sister is in trouble.
The beginning of the end looks to be an interesting segment, since it puts us back in control of the original duo.

Wesker Confirmed for Darkside Chronicles!

I know this may not be news to some, but i feel i have to get it out there, so for those that don’t follow much resident evil related news you can catch up here.

In an interview for unWIRED TV D.C. Douglas does say and i quote “i do play wesker in the darkside chronicles for the wii…i’m there if you look for me”

so how much of him are we going to see, flashbacks maybe, or as we all hope in the Code Veronica sequence.

D.C. Douglas also mentioned something i found quite interesting, apparently he did a voice over for wesker in what he called a prequel, only a short piece but its out there, so it got me thinking, are we going to see another prequel in there series?

Darkside Chronicles

This is going to be the first of many Darkside chronicles news pieces, so i thought I’d start by just giving out those few basic details, the majority of us will know…But take into account, new resident evil fans are emerging every day, and so, give us a minute or two of your time to fill them in.

From what we know so far the game is going to be divided into three main segments, the first being everyones favourite, the outbreak in racoon city, in which players can take control of Leon and Claire as they work together to escape the zombie infested racoon city, and of course you can expect to see a few familiar faces along the way but this time, with a little twist….Instead of the traditional two disk scenario, Leon and Claire won’t be splitting up at the beginning, and so will be meeting Ada and Sherry together, so theres a possibility of a few new scenes.

By now if you haven’t already guessed it, seeing as Leon and Claire are facing this nightmare together, they will face enemies together, and im not just talking about zombies, far from it, im talking about, Mr X(T-103)  and G, and to those who don’t know, thats william birkin, after his mutation.

A whole new story has been announced, and that will see Leon take to south America, and judging by the rumors circulating, an introduction to jack Krauser, possibly as his partner?

Lastly Fans of code veronica will not be disappointed to know that you will once again be on rockfort island, with Claire and of course Steve with his trademark gold lugers, and does that also mean a chance to play as chris again, only time will tell.

More on that and other confirmed characters to come.

Just a quick shout to let our readers know that our Resident Evil 5 Cheats page is now finally online and contains a bountiful list of Resident Evil 5 cheats, unlockables and secrets for you all to sink your teeth into. Beware, however, judging by the list of available cheats, it looks like some of the unlockables will really give you a run for your money. I still to this day remember ploughing through Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 2 as fast as I could to unlock the super weapons… good times. Read on »

1UP.com Reviews Resident Evil 5

The folks over at 1UP recently posted their official review of Resident Evil 5 - and not a moment to soon! Resident Evil 5 will officially be released for our UK readers in little over 20 minutes. Still, given that most of us have nothing to do until the postman arrives tomorrow and delivers our copy, why not head over to the official 1UP website and take a gander at the review? The reviewer, James Mielke, touches on many of the good and bad points with RE5 and really highlights a lot of things that I, too, agreed with.

Well, it turns out the rumours I’d been hearing are entirely true and Microsoft are indeed intending to release a limited edition red Xbox 360 Elite to co-inside with the launch of Resident Evil 5. Apparently, there’s also an official promotional picture of the red Xbox 360 Elite in the ‘Spotlight’ section of the Xbox Live Marketplace but I haven’t checked, myself. Read on »
